Larry Kaifesh, the Marine Colonel running against Tammy Duckworth for Illinois’ 8th Congressional District says his focus is, “jobs, jobs, jobs. People want jobs. They want to take care of themselves. They want to prosper. I’m focused on jobs and a thriving economy.”
Colonel Kaifesh was born in Elgin and raised in Carpentersville where he attended Dundee- Crown High School as a three-sport athlete, captaining the wrestling, football, and track teams and winning a state title as an undefeated wrestler. He then went on to Indiana University where he worked pouring concrete and framing homes to help pay for his education. After graduating from Indiana, Larry enrolled in the Marine Corp’s Officer Candidate School graduating with the rank of Second Lieutenant. He also received a Master’s Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College.
When asked why he wanted to run for the 8th, Kaifesh said, “I came up from a very patriotic family and I’ve always wanted to serve. When I saw Illinois, my home state, I thought this is the absolute microcosm of what’s happening across the country and it’s a race that has to be won.”
Kaifesh’s opponent, Tammy Duckworth has attacked him saying he’s receiving funding from right wing super PAC’s and individuals such as the Koch Brothers, which is untrue. You can look up Kaifesh’s donations at the FEC website. If you to see who is getting all the Super PAC money, Duckworth received a large portion of her funding from super PAC’s. Kaifesh says to this point, his campaign has only been supported by family and friends. She’s also attacked him as a right wing extremist. Kaifesh describes himself as an “all American patriot and a civil servant.”
Larry Kaifesh may be a surprise winner in November. In 2012, Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney by 19 points in the 8th Congressional District. In the next race on the ballot, Tammy Duckworth defeated Joe Walsh by 9.5 points. This means that 9.5% of the 8th district’s voters voted for Barack Obama and then Joe Walsh. This says something about Tammy Duckworth. 2014 is expected to be a triumphant year for Republicans. The race for Illinois 8th will be one to keep an eye on.

Keifesh is better than Duckworth but that is settling rather than addresses the massive crime and plunder on the taxpayers that is the Government and Public Sector today. We need leaders that have management and operation skills that will institute a minimum of 20% reduction in the Public Sector operations each year for the next 3 years to bring these operation back into reality and end the massive corruption. There is no reason for any deficit today if the proper reductions and restructuring is made. No one running today from the established parties is promoting any actions that address the root of the cancer that is destroying the nation at the federal, state and local levels. We do not have time to keep playing with amateurs any longer.
