Bruce Rauner makes robocalls to Chicago homeowners hitting Pat Quinn on the Chicago pension reform deal. Here is the transcript:
Hi, this is Bruce Rauner and I’m calling because Governor Pat Quinn is considering signing a bill that will let City Hall raise your property taxes. I would veto this bill and block this property tax hike — but Pat Quinn won’t say where he stands. This should be a no-brainer - veto the bill, don’t squeeze Chicago families even more. If you want to get more involved in my campaign to stop this bill call me at 312-583-0704. Paid for by Citizens for Rauner, Inc
Today, Mayor Rahm Emmanuel’s spokeperson Sarah Hamilton fired back about Rauner:
Rauner “hasn’t even gotten to Springfield, and he’s already acting like a career politician who plays politics with people’s pensions and livelihood.”
and
“The people of Chicago don’t need more rhetoric or gimmicks. They need a plan that will give our workers and retirees financial certainty and that will put our city finances in order for the long-term.”
Of the Sun-Times also spoke to Republican Leaders Jim Durkin and Christine Radongo. Durkin called it “politics” and Radogno agreed calling it “political theatre.” Durkin supported the bill, while Radogno voted against it.
This will be interesting to follow to see whether Pat Quinn signs the bill supported by Rahm Emmanuel or will he veto the bill to help his re-election bid. Still hanging out there is the pension reform bill that still must come for the Chicago Teacher Union.

Good for Rauner attacking the criminals of the Public Sector today. The crime and corruption in the Public Sector is at Epic levels destroying the Life of all taxpayers. The massive Public Sector Pension fraud is just one element of the restructuring and reform necessary to rescue the private economy and our nation. There is absolutely no need for any tax increases anywhere in this Public Sector operation. What is necessary is basic headcount reductions, compensation reductions and total reform of the millionaire Pension scam. After the restructuring is completed and the debt and deficits eliminated today at a Flat State Tax of no more than 3% maximum and the elimination of all double and triple taxation of income and the inheritance taxes. The prosecution and deportation of the present criminals of the Public Sector should be executed. These criminals are not even worthy of imprisonment in our prison system.
