Saturday, March 2 – Property Tax Seminar: How the Process Works

taxbillDuPage County, IL – On Saturday, March 2nd, 2013, State Senator Michael Connelly, State Representative’s Mike Fortner, Jeanne Ives, and Darlene Senger invite property owners to a seminar on understanding how property taxes are determined and more importantly, how the assessment process works and the various “exemptions” (Homeowners, Seniors, Returning Veterans, etc.) that residents may be entitled to which can help reduce their bottom line tax bill.

Local DuPage County officials have provided key information for a power point presentation to help homeowners understand better how their property taxes are determined and where they can turn to get help—starting with their local township assessors, Supervisor of Assessments, and County Clerk and Treasurer, to the DuPage County Board of Review and the State Property Tax Appeal Board.

A major portion of the presentation will be dedicated to a “Question & Answer” period for people to get answers to specific questions about property assessments and what proposals are being considered by the General Assembly that may impact property owners.

The Property Tax process is the biggest sham ever orchestrated on the citizens. There is no reason to have assessments that are 50% or more above real property values and are set based solely to promote the massively bloated Public Sector operations with their 50% over staffing and compensation levels plus their Multi-Million Dollar Retirement Packages. What the state needs is total reform of the Property Taxation operations starting with a maximum annually allowance for K-12 Education Budgets of $7K per Student for total Public Funding (Property Tax, Local, State and Federal Taxation) and a Voucher System that allows every parent to choose their school from the Private, Parochial and Public Systems. Add to this that all Public Sector Labor Agreements are approved at the Ballot Box and the corruption and fraud may begin to be addressed. For the present Public Sector operations are riddled with criminals that are destroying the nation, states and local communities.
