Hopefully the Board Members maintain their courage and start the necessary restructuring and reform that will bring this bloated system in line from a cost perspective and starts the Education delivery reforms that will vastly improve the learning experience for the students. The Reformation here can bring this operation in line with the efficient and effective Private and Parochial operations and allow for investment in Technology that can provide the students with a World Class Education and eliminate the unnecessary costs on taxpayers for a dysfunctional system that only serves its employees and that destroys the future not only of the nation but the students.

I still don’t understand why schools are only operational for 180 days per year. No one needs children to “work the farm” anymore. In many parts of the world, students attend 200 days out of the year. I’m sure that these long breaks are one reason American kids lag behind other countries.

The presentation at the townhall meeting is fascinating but long. I would recommend anyone who is interested in how districts operate to watch it (or some of it) because it is enlightening. Mr. Jarratt really knows what he is talking about, not only for Grayslake, but other districts in Illinois as well.
