The State Journal Register is reporting State Rep Jim Watson (R) is resigning to become the Executive Director of the Illinois Petroleum Council.
Republican state Rep. Jim Watson of Jacksonville is resigning to take a job with the Illinois Petroleum Council.
Watson, 47, an 11-year veteran of the General Assembly, will leave office Dec. 3.
“I have mixed emotions, but I’m happy to be going back to the private sector,” Watson said.
Watson will become executive director of the Illinois Petroleum Council, replacing David Sykuta, who is retiring. He called the job a good fit.
