At the Chicago Board of Elections meeting Tuesday, Oct 30, Commissioner Cowen announced that for the first time ever all election judge positions for the nursing homes are filled. Every single one had their voting history checked personally by Patti Batista. He said that they have never even come close to this before. This will help protect 3000 votes who have requested ballots in the nursing homes. See “What About the Rights of Nursing Home Voters?“ for background information on nursing home voting.
This effort was spearheaded by Sharon Meroni of Defend the Vote and Cook County Republican Party Chairman Aaron Del Mar with the help of Jack Roeser.
In addition, for first time EVER there are more Republican election judges then Democrats. 10,800 of the nearly 12,000 election judges have completed training. See the attached report below for the actual numbers.
